MSC is currently searching for an Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) Scientific Coordinator to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is full-time, and it is on site in Hamilton, Montana.

Duties and
Responsibilities:

1. Assist designated ACUC member to draft complete minutes for each meeting. Minutes should be completed within one week of the meeting and forwarded to the designated POC for official record.
2. Serve as the Vice Chairperson of the ACUC as appointed.
3. Review and comment on protocols and amendments submitted at ACUC meetings. Ensure that all issues are followed up on accordingly.
4. Assist in notifying investigators after the ACUC meeting concerning the status of submitted protocols.
5. Serve as a reference person for Principal Investigators, assisting them in writing new Animal Study Proposals (ASPs) as well as in revising and updating existing ASPs.
6. Provide scientific assistance.
7. Follow up with investigators after the above, and ensure completed protocols are submitted in a timely manner.
8. Assist investigators in writing protocols or amendments that will be acceptable for ACUC review when necessary.
9. Provide recommendations to the committee on actions needed in order to keep the Institute in compliance with regulations, policies, and guidelines.
10. Assist to ensure that all animal activities and animal use is conducted in accordance with an IC ACUC approved Animal Study Proposal.
11. Issue warnings and notices to investigators when necessary.
12. Attend ARAC meetings.
13. Maintain a strong / current understanding of the NIH, ARAC, AWA, and AVMA guidelines.
14. Assist in coordinating semi-annual ACUC facility visit's and assemble a final report to be submitted for full committee review.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Expert knowledge in the development and management of animal research protocols. Must have a technical background in laboratory animal science and understand the concepts of biomedical research along with working knowledge of the NIH animal care and use policies and guidelines as well as other regulatory documents i.e. the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the PHS Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Regulations under the Animal Welfare Act, ARAC Guidelines, Manual 3040-2 Animal Care and Use Intramural Program.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
